Pet grooming services features and options at Hip Hip FurRay in Boynton Beach include almost everything a dog owner needs, with a few optional add-ons as well.
Our dog bathing and grooming service options all include a premium shampoo and conditioner, ear cleaning, nail clipping, teeth brushing, and a natural paw balm to help moisturize your fur baby's paw pads.
This applies to any of the pet grooming services listed on our services page that include dog bath, dog bath and blow dry, or dog grooming in the title, but below you'll find more information about selections you can make, as well as other services you can add on if you're in need of them.
◈ Shampoos and Conditioners ◈
We typically have several different shampoos and conditioners to choose from, including oatmeal shampoos and conditioners for dogs that tend to have dandruff, hypoallergenic shampoos and conditioners for canines that have sensitive skin, and even several coat-specific shampoos and conditioners.
If you have a white dog, a pup with a long, silky coat such as a Yorkshire Terrier, or a double-coated dog that needs help with deshedding, you can ask your groomer for these specialty shampoos instead of our standard shampoo at no additional cost!
We also have herbal shampoos we use for flea baths, if your dog has fleas. Just let your groomer know, and they'll be glad to tell you how much a flea bath will cost and how long it will take, based on your dog's size/weight.
Most of our shampoos and conditioners are mildly scented. If you prefer extra scent, you can ask your groomer for that, and if you prefer no scent at all, we recommend sticking with the hypoallergenic shampoo.
◈ Ear Cleaning, Nail Clipping, and Teeth Brushing ◈
Some puppies visit us with freshly clipped nails or cleaned ears. Maybe these services were recently performed at home or during your dog's most recent trip to the vet. Other times, we avoid some of these dog grooming service options because a canine has an injury or an infection.
Either way, you can let our grooming staff know you would like to omit something, and we'll make a note of it and even shave a few bucks off your bill, too.
◈ Grooming Add-Ons ◈
Here are just a few of the most popular pet grooming add-ons our customers ask for.
◈ Nail Grinding ◈
Nail grinding is always included if you purchase a nail clipping service. If you've requested one of the other three appointments, however, your dog bathing or grooming service will include nail clipping, and nail grinding can be added on for a few dollars more, with price varying depending on your pet's size.
Nail clipping shortens your dog's nails to a healthier, more manageable length, but tends to leave them quite jagged. If you prefer for your dog's nails to be smooth to the touch, so that they're not snagging on items or scratching up your skin, we highly recommend having their nails files smooth for an extra few dollars.
◈ Gland Expression ◈
Some dogs express their glands on their own and never need this service, while many other dogs need anal gland expression to be performed manually. It's always free to check, and if your dog does end up needing gland expression, it's just a few bucks more and cost is based on pet size, just like the nail clipping.
If your dog is dragging its heinie often or emitting foul odors, it might be time to have their glands checked.
◈ Dematting ◈
Matted fur is a pretty common issue which can be caused or exasperated by a multitude of things. Either way, if your pet has matted fur, our grooming staff will assess the quantity and severity of the matting, before proposing a solution, its cost, and its timeframe.
And in situations where the matting is too deep or too prevalent, our staff will likely give you a call to let you know that a short haircut is the only solution, but we'll always give you a heads-up so that there are no surprises when you return to the salon to pick up your beloved pet.
It's best to attempt to minimize matting, because the process of dematting a dog is uncomfortable for them and involves sharp tools, but once we return your pet's coat to a clean slate, we'll offer up some tips on how to help prevent matted dog fur so that your dog's future grooming sessions can be as pleasant as possible.
Every pet is different and may have unique needs. Please feel free to call or email us if you have questions about our services, your dog's unique circumstances, or anything else. And if you're interested in booking a pet grooming service for your pet, our online booking calendar has everything you need to quickly and easily select a bath or grooming service of your choosing at a date and time that works for you.
We'll do everything we can to help ensure your pet has a wonderful grooming experience at Hip Hip FurRay!
Best,
